General objective:

Give initial and basic education to the students with severe or multiple special educative needs; this includes the development of working skills that allow integration into the regular school system or the workplace by means of a systematic teaching method that forms an educational base and allows the progress of the student.

Description and / or Function:

The school offers special education students or students with severe or multiple disabilities in the municipality of Cihuatlán, who for various reasons are unable to join the regular education system. These students are put in place specific programs using strategies and materials appropriate to their needs, in order to meet their basic learning necessities, to promote their autonomy, social integration and employment. The school also promotes the integration of students into regular schools and how they work skills to train and enable integration into the workplace.


Aimed at:

Children with multiple or severe incapacities from 45 days after birth to adult and don’t attend regular school.
Children with incapacities that require specific help for their integration into the regular school system.

General objective:

In this school year (2009 – 2010) we started giving a service in three regular schools with the objective of helping students that present special educational needs, associated with a disability, the opportunity to receive a basic school education in a regular school in order to help them integrate into the regular system through a specialised curriculum.

Services given:

- Help in giving the students the special education needed to allow them to integrate.

- Orientation for family members and the school community in order to help them understand and to improve the conditions for these students in the community.

- Updates and training for regular teachers in the schools used for integration.

- Improving the sensitivity of the community to improve the conditions and attention received by special needs children attending a regular school.
